Georgiena is a senior lawyer who specialises in business, rural and agribusiness law, and has practiced both in Queensland and New South Wales. Georgiena joined O'Halloran Deal in 2008 to meet the needs of our growing practice. Georgiena's substantial experience includes commercial and rural property sales and acquisitions, leasing, subdivision, succession planning, estate planning, business structuring and taxation.
Georgiena is an Accredited Specialist in Business Law, one of only five in the Riverina. Her recent experience includes:
- Acting on the purchase of a significant local business with assets in excess of $20 million;
- Preparing succession plans for rural families with assets in excess of $15 million;
- Advising on a complex stamp duty issue which achieved a considerable tax saving for our client;
- Advising in relation to Federal Government water buy-backs;
- Assisting the Australian Bankers Association with introducing water legislation both in Queensland and New South Wales;
- Advising a large rural merchant supplier on debt management procedures;
- Achieving a very favourable capital gains taxation ruling for our client on a large and complex tax issue;
- Acting on purchases and sales of businesses including transport, retail, and agribusiness.
With over 10 years of private practice experience, and 3 years as Senior Rural Legal Counsel for Rabobank, Georgiena has the following memberships:

- Rural Issues Committee of NSW Law Society
- Ad Hoc Financial Services Reform and Lawyers Working Group established by Law Council of Australia
- Australian Women Lawyers
Upon invitation, Georgiena has shared her wealth of information at seminars on estate planning and water reform for organisations such as Lexis Nexis and the New South Wales Law Society. She also regularly presents at seminars held by O'Halloran Deal.
