Darryl has been a practicing solicitor for over 40 years. He has been involved in Estate Planning since the time when Death Duty was payable. His firms Thompson and Goode and Thompson Farrell and Goode saved numerous families from losing their farms and other properties to the State and Federal Governments for death duties. When death duties were abolished in 1981 it was perceived that the need for estate planning was no longer an issue.

However it soon became apparent that the "new death duties" of Capital Gains Tax, Income Tax on estate beneficiaries, Stamp Duty, Land Tax etc needed to be addressed in Wills.

Darryl practiced Estate Planning in his offices in Temora, Wagga and at one time Canberra. For the past ten years he has practiced with specialists estate planning firms in Sydney.

As well as a law degree from Sydney University, Darryl has had a Financial Planning Qualifications (Certified Financial Planner) and was a registered tax agent for approximately 35 years (he has been a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia for many years). He is no longer registered as a Financial Planner or tax agent so there will be no conflicts of interest with accountants or Financial Planners.
